Linux Systems Engineer

Requirements 
TOP 3 MUST HAVES: 
7 years of red hat 
5 years VMware 
2 years of Kubernetes (OpenShift, etc.) 

Experience: 
• Seven (7) years of progressive experience in systems administration and design work. 
• Seven (7) years of experience in RedHat Linux or mixed Microsoft Windows/RedHat Linux Server environment. 
• Five (5) years of experience in Hypervisor management (VMware) 
• Five (5) years of experience troubleshooting server hardware, software, application performance monitoring, and capacity planning tools. 
• Two (2) years of experience in automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, BitBucket, GIT) 
• Two (2) years of experience in container management and orchestration/Kubernetes 

Preferred Experience: 
• Private industry experience 
• Seven (7) years of experience in RedHat Linux Server administration and VMware environment management 
• Three (3) years of experience with RedHat OpenShift 
• Experience with security compliance and vulnerability management 
• Experience with managing complex cross team projects 
• Experience writing system documentation, system specifications/requirements, presentations, correspondence, studies, reports, and training materials 
• Experience in disaster recovery tests and related activities 
• Experience with Active Directory and Linux AD Bridging 
• Experience with Nutanix Hyperconverged Hardware and AOS, NCC and Foundation 
• Understanding of DevOps/InfraOps concepts and methodologies 
• Basic understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) 
• Microsoft Windows Server OS experience 

Knowledge of: 
• Linux application servers, or transaction processing products with the ability to research, detect problems and provide technical support 
• Red Hat Linux RHEL 7 and 8 
• Server virtualization technologies (VMware. Nutanix) 
• Container management and orchestration (OpenShift) 
• Red Hat Linux Management (Satellite) 
• Security compliance and vulnerability management (NIST, CIS Benchmark) 
• Networking protocols and configuration (TCP, DNS, Firewall, Segmentation) 
• 24/7 system availability 
• Automated operations and tools for provisioning and centralized management of servers (Python, Satellite, Ansible)
