5+ years of application support experience in a Unix/Linux environment

5+ years of scripting experience (Python, Shell, Perl, etc

Strong application, system, and network troubleshooting skills
 

Strong understanding of web/app, service layer (middleware), and database server roles in an enterprise environment

Solid knowledge of monitoring and dashboarding solutions (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, BigPanda, Netcool, Elastic, Splunk, etc

Solid understanding of virtual machines, containers, and cloud computing

Preferred Skills

Understanding of SDLC process

Experience with Oracle's Tuxedo middleware software or similar

Experience with ActiveMQ, Kafka, or similar message-oriented software

SQL knowledge and understanding of relational databases

Understanding of server, application, and network security fundamentals

Experience using Atlassian's Confluence and Jira products

ITSM knowledge
Knowledge of the financial industry - trading/investing, stocks, mutual funds, options, etc

Experience with batch job creation, scheduling, or monitoring

Experience with load balancers and DNS

Experience with server clustering software
