The position

The Computational Biology & Translation team leverages AI to enhance the design and execution of clinical trials.
We are seeking an AI scientist / Machine Learning Engineer with passion to support AI/ML projects in computer vision, especially in microscopy imaging.
Responsibilities

Work closely with AI and imaging scientists in machine learning work streams including but not limited to cell segmentation and classification from microscopy images.
Work closely with ML and data engineers in end-to-end machine learning and data pipelines.
Qualifications:

MS or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics), preferably with a thesis on a computer vision-related topic.
Previous industry experience in deep learning in image processing/computer vision, or previous deep learning experience in healthcare industry or research institutes.
Demonstrated experience with Python and analysis of image-like data.
Previous experience working with microscopes, acquiring or processing microscopy images.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Optional but preferred qualifications:

Knowledge of classical image processing and/or computer vision.
Experience with Python-based image processing and machine learning frameworks, such as OpenCV and PyTorch (Lightning).
Familiarity with development tools for experiment tracking, dataset versioning, and model management in machine learning.
Working knowledge of SQL, Bash and git.
Familiarity with best software development practices and an understanding of basic data engineering concepts.
Experience with using HPC resources and working in a cloud environment.
An understanding of basic concepts in molecular biology, the drug development process, and biotech in general.
