Machine Vision Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Vision Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our dynamic team in Columbus, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine vision systems, particularly within packaging line environments, and a proven track record of successful installations, configurations, troubleshooting, and optimization.

Key Responsibilities
System Installation and Configuration: Lead and execute the installation and configuration of Machine Vision Systems, specifically within a Cognex environment, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes and equipment

Troubleshooting and Optimization: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Machine Vision Systems, working efficiently to minimize downtime and enhance system performance. Optimize systems to meet production requirements and improve overall efficiency

Sensor Integration: Integrate various sensors with Machine Vision Systems to enhance system capabilities and ensure accurate data collection and analysis

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and production staff, to understand project requirements and deliver effective solutions. Provide technical support and training as needed  

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and optimization efforts. Prepare and present detailed reports on system performance and improvements

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Machine Vision Systems in a packaging line environment. Proficiency in Cognex vision systems is highly desirable

Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of machine vision technologies, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience with sensor integration and system optimization

Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and address complex technical issues

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred
