Mainframe Technical Lead

Job Description:

Associate will be part of the Legacy Modernization team.
Associate is also responsible for the deliverables for those consulting projects which will include the technical assessment of the application, Tools development, Application data analysis.
There would be requirement for customization in the framework for different system applications based on the technology they are using, and associate shall be able to understand the requirement and will modify the framework accordingly.
Associate will also be involved during the actual implementation phase of the project to provide better guidance and best practices to improve the overall quality of Cognizant's deliverable to the client in projects.
It would be an added advantage if associate has prior experience on Modernization Projects / has Partner solution experience with Microfocus, Heirloom, Tmaxsoft

Required Skills:

DataCom and Ideal Specialist, DB2, COBOL
Architecture Skills, Automation Skills, Solution Skills, Team Leadership Skills, Knowledge of Cloud Platforms
Nice to have skills: Assembler - preferred but can be learned on the job if needed

Secondary skills
Scripting languages for tool development (innovation/automation) – REXX, Python
Knowledge of various Cloud platforms & their technical aspects
Working Knowledge of modernization tools – Microfocus, HeirLoom, TmaxSoft rehosting platforms.
Able to troubleshoot the technical issues, and use the debugging tools like Xpediter, dump analysis
Good to have certifications of cloud platforms at solution architect level.
Modernization Skills (Nice to Have) : Microfocus, HeirLoom,TmaxSoft etc.,
