Position’s Contributions to Work Group: -          The main function of a manufacturing engineer is to apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production. A typical manufacturing engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read/interpret blueprints. Reason/motivation for request: Additional resource for all of core components design team for procurement and tracking of prototype parts as well as providing engineering shop support to LEC operations Typical task breakdown: -          Acts as a liaison between operations (manufacturing, quality, & supply chain) and engineering -          Documents, tracks, and actively manages non-production (“prove design”) parts for team of core components engines. -          Required to understand and document issues which arise with operations, and then communicating for awareness to establish the correct core component design engineer engagement -          Will place single prove design parts orders, while initiating and maintaining an inventory record with an accuracy control process -          Will participate in project teams established to procure and deliver to point of use non-production engineering prove design components, as well as assess and solve operations issues related to part design or as-received quality -          Strongest candidates will be able to inspect parts using basic measuring tools (calipers, mics, etc.) or gauges, and have good interpersonal and communication skills. Interaction with team: -          Daily interactions with team members via email, phone, teams, and face-to-face interactions Work environment: Office, manufacturing facility, warehouse Education & Experience Required: -          Bachelor’s Degree (ideally in supply chain/logistics/quality/operations/technology or related) with 2-4 years experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, engineering or administrative support. -          OR a Associate’s Degree (ideally in supply chain/logistics/quality/operations/technology or related) with 5+ years experience in supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, engineering or administrative support. Technical Skills (Required) -          Advanced knowledge in M.S. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. -          Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. -          Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. (Desired) -          Top candidates would have experience with SAP or related supply chain management software.
