Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is typically required. A master's degree may be preferred, especially for managerial positions.
  • Manufacturing Engineering Expertise: In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, methodologies, and best practices. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement tools.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Will lead Manufacturing Engineering for existing processes and develops future processes.
  • Broad understanding and experience of manufacturing methodologies and processes
  • Develop future manufacturing concepts.
  • Industry 4.0 experience
  • Implementing automation projects
  • Capital equipment management, makes budgets, tracks costs.
  • Automotive experience highly preferred in manufacturing
  • Strong assembly experience
  • Experienced leading & implementing Process Flow diagrams, FMEA, Control Plans, Process audit sheets.
  • Experienced ERP user eg Power User, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle etc.
  • Strong Root Cause Analysis skills
  • Ideally Six Sigma Black Belt and trained in other problem-solving techniques eg RedX
  • Demonstrated experience implementing production floor systems – SPC, MES solutions, Traceability.
  • Data analytics – compiles KPI’s, analyzes and collects data to drive improvements.

 

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

Manage and lead a team of manufacturing engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of engineering projects and initiatives.

 

Process Improvement:

Identify areas for process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement within the manufacturing operations. Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.

 

New Product Introduction:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering and production, to facilitate the smooth introduction of new products into manufacturing. Ensure that production processes are capable of meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements for new product launches.

 

Continuous Improvement:

Drive a culture of continuous improvement by promoting Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies. Lead or support projects related to process optimization, cycle time reduction, and quality improvement.

 

Manufacturing Support:

Provide technical expertise and support to the manufacturing floor, resolving technical issues, troubleshooting problems, and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with production personnel to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve overall product quality.

 

Equipment and Tooling:

Evaluate and select appropriate equipment, tools, and technologies for manufacturing processes. Coordinate with equipment vendors, maintenance teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure proper installation, maintenance, and calibration of manufacturing equipment.

 

Documentation and Standards:

Develop and maintain manufacturing engineering documentation, including process instructions, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality management systems.

 

Cost Management:

Monitor manufacturing costs, analyze cost drivers, and develop strategies to reduce expenses while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize material costs and supplier relationships.

 

Manufacturing Software System Maintenance:

Maintaining Manufacturing Software Systems (MES, ERP, WMS) and production data reporting.
