The MES Engineer is responsible for maintaining the manufacturing systems deployed in North American and International plants.
The MES Engineer will work closely with the Manufacturing Architecture Team and Project Management Team to implement new projects, and minor systems enhancements.
The MES Engineer will also coordinate providers for Server/Storage, Network, Database and Deskside when their services are needed to implement systems enhancements or to resolve information technology issues in the plants.
Modify, develop, and implement enhancements to MES applications (GE Cimplicity) and the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Toolset
MES Production Monitoring & Control (PM&C)
MES Visual Plant Management (Allison Industry 4.0 initiative to collect data from Internet of Things and visualizing the data through charts and desktop objects utilizing displays on the plant floor for data driven decision making)
Bill of Material and ERP related interfaces
Perform daily health checks on MES and related manufacturing systems.
Respond to manufacturing systems outages, including participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation
Keep abreast of new technology for manufacturing systems

Technical Skills
5 + years of relevant experience in the IT industry5 + years of experience supporting information systems and infrastructure in a manufacturing organization
5 + years of experience developing and supporting SCADA solutions built with GE Digital Cimplicity software or equivalent
3 + years of experience developing or supporting applications built in the Microsoft .Net framework running on Windows Server
3 + years of experience developing or supporting applications built on SQL Server, including experience writing and supporting SQL stored proceduresExperience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Ladder Logic.
Experience utilizing OPC for data collection
Experience with developing and supporting solutions utilizing barcodes
Experience developing and supporting web based applications
Relevant technical certifications
Working knowledge of ITIL IT Service Management concepts and principles
