Summary Of Role
Under direct supervision, develops complex component engineering drawings using company and industry standards and codes from equipment specifications and detailed drawings. Expert in creating proper part CAD models. Creates product structures in PDM systems. Proficient in construction of check layouts or assembly drawings comprised of various components and sub-assemblies in assigned product line. Utilizes automated design programs, design group, and company drafting standards and procedures. Familiar with industry requirements associated with assigned product/service line. Utilizes working knowledge of inspection techniques, machining, materials, components, and their application. Aware of impact of poor drafting quality in design documentation. Checks drawings of other design personnel for completeness and accuracy as required. Aware of tolerance requirements for proper function of equipment. Incorporates reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly and consequences of errors are measured and can be confined. Skills typically acquired through the completion of an Associate's degree in drafting or similar discipline and 4 years of related experience or through 6 years of related drafting experience.
Qualifications
Requires an undergraduate degree (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline or equivalent experience (minimum of 6 years related experience preferred)
