Perform calculations for the stresses developed in the structural and mechanical components of overhead cranes and runway systems.
Generate 2D & 3D design drawings, detailed fabrication drawings and bill of materials for overhead cranes and other material handling equipment using AutoCad.
Work with other project team members in the engineering stage of various material handling projects.
Review customer generated drawings and specifications as they pertain to the engineering design of the equipment or system.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Structural, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in design engineering and detailing
Team approach to problem solving
Strong skills in communication and customer service
Proficient in AutoCad for 2D & 3D design and detailing
Computer literate with proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
Experience in manufacturing and Structural steel fabrication desired
Able to work in a collaborative/team environment
Must be eligible to work and free of any non-competition agreements.
Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
Working Conditions
Almost always work indoors. At times may work outdoors if the electrical system or equipment requires it.
Are sometimes exposed to sounds and noise levels that might be distracting or uncomfortable.
Work near others. They often share the same office space with other engineers
