Title: Mechanical Validation Engineer

Location: Sunnyvale, CA/ Onsite

 

Note: look for candidates from Consumer Electronics domain. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design fixtures and electromechanical systems for internal system validation team use
  • Develop comprehensive system and sub-system level test specifications, manage and execute test plans, and provide feedback to development teams.
  • 2D and 3D CAD modeling and drafting.
  • Work closely with cross-functional team members and clients to produce high quality engineering solutions.
  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials, and similar project documents.
  • Other administrative functions as required.

Minimum Qualification :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience in System Validation role for consumer electronics or related field
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting electric, electronic, and mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Experience in technical documentation and report generation.
  • Basic networking/communication knowledge (such as Modbus, RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, protocols) required.

Desired Skills:

  • Tool and fixture design and GD &T
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing practices (Kanban, Poke-Yoke, JIT, Value Stream Mapping)
  • Design and application knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards
  • Experience with panel design, motion and motor control systems, and logic controller programming, HMI, C#, Python, C, using SoC and DRY techniques is a plus.
  • Experience using EPlan Electric P8 and SolidWorks 2016 or newer preferred.
