Job Description
- Support database technology install, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain MySQL databases in Production and non-production environments.
- Participate in on-call rotation that provides 24/7 support to systems.
- Involve in backup/restore tasks upon requests and rebuilding the servers with shell scripts if data loss happens by using old backups.
- Work on Replication set ups, cluster setups depending on application Tier level and also provide technical expertise and hands on support in consolidation and migrations.
- Implement Router installations for innodb cluster setup and simple router installation for Bi-directional setup.
- Support local as well as across the DC fail over based on application environments.
- Implement the DBA tools to improve the effectiveness of Tasks such as performance tuning and recovery.
- Modify the database structure as necessary from information given by the application developers.
- Work on Tickets, Change requests, Daily Tickets queue ITDR activities and application releases.
- Work with other infra structure engineering, business operations and technical operation to deliver the database services within the SLA's and targets.
- Work on day to day tasks such as user creation, schema creation, query tuning, dead lock issues and file system beyond threshold alerts.
- Work on replication issues, cluster issues, router issues and lock issues upon on application tier level.
Minimum Education Requirement:- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, information technology relevant engineering (computer engineer, software engineering, electronic engineering, or related), or a combination of education and experience equating to the U.S. equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned subjects.
