Description: Developer II (DEV II) Governor’s Office of Information Technology

Job Summary: The Developer II primarily focuses on development activities within the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from business requirements to support. They collaborate with various stakeholders, apply secure programming techniques, perform unit testing, configuration management, and provide support services. The role includes participation in planning for application replacement and modernization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Application Development and Support:
    • Consult with Solution Architects and collaborate with Business Analysts to design applications.
    • Develop applications using Agile or Waterfall methodologies, ensuring adherence to standards.
    • Coordinate system changes, contribute to break/fix solutions, and update documentation.
    • Organize and validate code segments for final User Acceptance Testing.
  2. Tracking and Reporting:
    • Develop work effort estimates and record time spent on activities.
    • Provide progress reports and accurate estimates for completion.
  3. Additional Duties:
    • Perform assigned duties as required.
    • Travel to different locations as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Work Experience: 2+ years of hands-on programming experience in applications development.
  • Education/Training: Undergraduate degree in information technology, computer science, or related field.

Minimum Functional/Technical Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficiency in C#, .NET, and SQL.
  • Experience working collaboratively across the software development life cycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency in time and task management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
