The file disk pool is made of 4 TB SATA disks. Pet Ins is using RAID-DP (double parity).
The majority of the file data is used by their ImageRight application.
It’s not a lot of space, maybe 35 TB with a 2:1 compression ratio, but probably hundreds of millions of small files.
All of the shares are SMB only, so no NFS or multi-protocol exports.
All the files are permissioned in the petinsurance.com domain which we will not trust, and they only have a 1-gigabit outbound link from their Colorado data center.
Our contact has been asked to move the file data into their Columbus data centers.
