Network Administrator

Responsibilities

 

• Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade networks and servers at the Department of Aviation's Network Operations Center
• Keep an eye out for needed updates
• Support and administer third-party applications
• Ensure network security and connectivity
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Resolve problems reported by end users
• Define network policies and procedures
• Research and make recommendations on network system administration
  
   

Requirements

 

• Proven experience in a network administrator role
• Hands on experience in networking, routing, and switching
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server and network infrastructures
• Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Ability to set up and configure network and server hardware
• Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking
• Cisco training and certifications
• CWNA training is a plus
• Evening and overnight hours are required
• Weekend work is required
