JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a skilled Network Administrator to join our team, with a focus on Mainframe Linux Patch Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, particularly in managing and maintaining mainframe Linux systems. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the security and performance of mainframe Linux systems through effective patch management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain mainframe Linux systems, ensuring they are secure, up-to-date, and performant.
  • Develop and implement patch management strategies for mainframe Linux systems, including identifying, testing, and deploying patches.
  • Monitor mainframe Linux systems for security vulnerabilities and apply patches as needed.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that mainframe Linux systems are integrated into the overall network infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for mainframe Linux systems.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in mainframe Linux patch management and network administration.

Configuration of SUSE Manager to handle the routine patch cycles and working with individual business units to understand how to migrate the server to a supported version.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in network administration & SUSE Management, with a focus on mainframe Linux systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mainframe Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Experience with mainframe Linux patch management tools and techniques..
  • Familiarity with network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
