Network Administrator

Job Responsibilities

 

• Assists with the daily administration of a network/server environment.
• Monitors network performance and performs testing to provide diagnosis of issues and to assist with deployment of solutions.
• Performs routine updates and maintenance tasks. May be responsible for tracking the parts inventory and maintenance of documentation.
• Emphasis is on learning the key aspects of the job to be performed and supporting more senior administrators.
• Typically reports to supervisor or manager.

Required Skills

 

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, 6 - 9 years
• Experienced IT professional with 3+ years overall experience and minimum of 3 years as a Network Engineer.
• Experience in the design and delivery of customer-facing presentations (2 years minimum)
• Experience configuring and/or administering firewalls (Palo Alto preferred) (2 years minimum)
• Experience with Cisco Data Center Technologies including: N7K, N9K, and N2k (1 year minimum)
• Experience interpreting and implementing Network designs in both Greenfield and Brownfield deployments
• Cisco CCNP or greater in Route/Switch preferred Engineering level experience in 2 of the following: Routing & Switching, Virtualization, Security, Storage, or Voice.
• Knowledge of IP network protocols including BGP and OSPF Network security experience with IPSEC, VPN, SSL VPN, Data Acceleration and optimization Proficiency in MLPS, MPLS VPN, WLAN, and VRF-Lite
• Proficiency in Firewall configuration and rule creation
• Proficiency in VoIP technologies
• Ability to create migration plans with minimal disruption to existing network
• Solid written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
