Description

The Cyber Security Engineer (CSE) performs cyber security support and advice to a Partner Nation in support of the US Army’s Program Executive Office – Command, Control, Communication – Tactical (PEO C3T). This is full-time, on-site in a Latin American country and the CSE must be fluent in Spanish. CSE must be detail-oriented and have in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity and cybersecurity operations centers (CSOC). The CSE will be responsible for providing expert-level guidance and strategic recommendations to the Partner Nation on a wide range of cybersecurity-related matters. The CSE will work closely with the Partner Nation to assess their security posture, identify vulnerabilities, and develop comprehensive solutions to mitigate risks and enhance their overall security resilience.

Candidates for the CSE assists and advises the PEO C3T Portfolio Manager and the Partner Nation in cybersecurity and the build-up of a CSOC. The Partner Nation will be responsible for their cybersecurity program, but the CSE will assist and advise as needed as a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME). The CSE may also be asked by the Partner Nation or the PEO C3T Portfolio Manager to assist in planning, design, management, and coordination of CSOC projects. The CSE keeps his or her technical skills updated and studies available products to determine those which best meet the Partner Nation’s needs. The CSE provides guidance, direction, and mentoring for Partner Nation CSOC personnel as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support Partner Nation (PN) with best practices in cyber security; strategy development, standards and policies, risk assessment and mitigation, incident response and recovery, awareness and training.

Support the PN with the following:

· Security Assessments: Support PN’s security assessments, including vulnerability scans, penetration testing, and risk analysis, to identify potential weaknesses in the security infrastructure.

· Security Strategy Development: Collaborate with PN to develop and implement tailored cybersecurity strategies that align with their objectives.

· Security Architecture Design: Assist with the design and architect of secure systems, networks, and infrastructure to protect the PN's critical information assets.

· Security Solution Implementation: Provide “on the ground” assistance with the implementation of PEO C3T projects.

· Incident Response and Remediation: Assist PN in developing and testing incident response plans and provide guidance on effective incident response and remediation measures.

· Security Awareness and Training: Provide security awareness training programs to educate PNs' personnel on cybersecurity best practices.

· Project Development: Develop, with input from the US ODC and PEO C3T, future PN cyber security recommendations.

· Reporting: Prepare Monthly / Quarterly reporting, advisement, and action-officer level support to PEO C3T.

This position will be performed onsite in the Partner Nation.

Travel requirement: ~2x per year to Continental US

Requirements

>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

>Extensive experience (5+ years) in cybersecurity, with a proven track record of success.

>Expertise in security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO, RMF).

>Proficiency in security technologies, tools, and platforms (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).

>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and provide innovative solutions.

>Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

>Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are highly desirable.

>Must be fluent in Spanish; experience in Latin America is a plus

>US Citizenship mandatory

>Active US Government Clearance at Secret level or higher.
