Duties include engage in capacity planning, switches, routers, and other network devices and monitoring tools like Solar Winds, Cisco Prime, Wireshark tools; implementing and troubleshooting complex layer 2 technologies such as VLAN trunks, VTP, Ether-channel, STP, RSTP, PVST, and MST; Remote access support solution support; VPN, terminal services, Citrix, Sprint and AT&T networks; configuring network tools to monitor and work to resolve Node alerts and notifications through Solar Winds; monitor network performance and integrity, as layer 3 routing and layer 2 switching resolve issues tiers of support have escalated; create, oversee, and test security measures, firewall rules, F5 load balancers (e.g. access authentication); participate in the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system; update agent scripts, respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system review; configure and troubleshoot VOIP technologies; document maintenance for all projects and network infrastructure with sharepoint integration; communication with business departments as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages; suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability; provide technical services and support for the following areas: network level, WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, Cisco switches and routers, and firewalls, cloud interfacing firms and network infrastructure.

Minimum requirements for entry into the position: Requires a Masters degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in information systems, electrical engineering, engineering or closely related and 1 YEAR of experience in the job offered or 1 YEAR of experience in Solar Winds, Cisco Prime, and Wireshark tools; Implementing and troubleshooting complex Layer 2 technologies such as VLAN trunks, VTP, Ether-channel, STP, RSTP, PVST, and MST; VPN, terminal-services, Citrix, Sprint and AT&T Networks; CISCO Switches and routers; Wireless LAN controllers; Routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF.
