Austin, TX 78731 (Onsite)

3 months Contract with possibility to extension

 

Duties performed:

  • Responsible for installing networking technologies and supporting networks.
  • Performs highly complex network engineering work.
  • Data engineer that operates, monitors and manages network infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, management and operational support of Network Infrastructure.
  • Assesses existing network configurations and makes recommendations based on product specifications.
  • Configures equipment and software to meet business needs, trains others on the solution, and documents the solution for ongoing support as part of a team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects.
  • Provides technical support and assists with the design of network solutions.
  • Requires experience in the technical services and support field as well as experience in network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.).

 

Candidate Skills and Qualifications:

8RequiredDegree from a four-year college or university with major in computer science, electronics, telecommunications, or related field plus a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in telecommunications networks.
8RequiredResponsible for installing networking technologies and supporting networks.
8RequiredSupports enterprise network IT infrastructure design, implementation, operational maintenance & support. Assesses existing network configurations and makes recommendations based on product and industry specifications.
8RequiredConfigures equipment and software to meet business needs, trains others on the solution, and documents the solution for ongoing support.
8RequiredFunctions as part of a team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects.
8RequiredProficient with network monitoring & administration
8RequiredRequires experience in the administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.). Hands on experience with IP subnetting, Telnet/SSH Clients, VoIP and MPLS technologies, and Cisco network software (COS/IOS).
8RequiredProvides technical support and assists with the design of network solutions.
2PreferredTexas State Agency network administrator experience
2PreferredExperience with Cisco ASA and Fortinet firewalls
2PreferredProficient with network monitoring & administration tools such as Solar Winds, Splunk, and various Protocol Analyzers and with Microsoft Office suite including Visio.
