About the role:
Network Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, and more than 3 years of experience. The Network Engineer will be responsible for building, operating, and maintaining network devices installed in Virginia DC, supporting activities related to the project, including configuring routing protocols, providing network information, configuring ports, VLAN extension, etc. Additionally, the role will involve supporting the migration from Denver to Richardson DC.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and maintain routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, route leaking, route redistribution, route-maps, etc.
Design and operate networks using WAN technologies, including MPLS, DMVPN, VRF, etc.
Install, configure, and maintain Cisco switches (Catalyst 9000 Series and Nexus), stackwise, and protocols like STP, RSTP, MSTP, PVST, R-PVST, VPC.
Utilize network management applications and related protocols such as SNMP, Netflow, SolarWinds, NetBrain, Wireshark.
Create complete end-to-end plans, including designs and upgrades for enterprise-wide LANs/WANs.
Coordinate modifications to the network environment with other IT departments and change management.
Develop Concepts of Operation, Requirements, Basis of Design, and critical design documents and drawings.
Perform fault isolation and resolution in a methodical and thorough manner.
Assist with life-cycle management evaluations and recommendations.
Support change control after hours or over weekends.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate through verbal and written means.
Ability to delegate tasks and set deadlines for the internal team.
Experience developing network design documents and drawings.
Valid Cisco certifications, including CCNA and CCNP, are highly desirable.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
More than 3 years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
Location: Hybrid in Dallas (2-3 days onsite)
Note: This position may require occasional travel to CO, VA and flexibility in working hours to accommodate migration activities.
