Description
The C2 (Command and Control) Network Engineer shall have working knowledge and experience to support tactical/operational level Latvian network development and functional skillset based on the projected fielding of the AFATDS-I and FAAD C2 software. The C2 Network Engineer shall facilitate connection functionality/operation of the US Army automated battle command systems such as AFATDS (fires) and FAAD C2 (air defense) in a network. Support interoperable network development and future data flow from the digitized “fires” programs among Latvian nodes and to/with US and other NATO allies (ASCA members and AFATDS-US). Ensure functionality of the AFATDS-I software and incorporation of corresponding nodes such as forward observers, radars, shooters, and fire direction centers, as well as automated data sharing with FAAD C2 for ground-based air defense.
Typically, the C2 Network Engineer will conduct these and similar activities:
Required working knowledge of AFATDS-I and FAAD to provide technical assistance to host country
Work with Senior Engineers and Architects to develop and analyze current and future network builds
Ensure sustainment and consistency with current Host Nation Architecture
Identify network training opportunities for mil-to-mil engagements
Conduct usability tests to verify user experience and ensure all high-level requirements are met
Develop prototypes and user guides to keep end users up to date on system functions
Minimum requirements:
• AFATDS-I (Army Field Artillery Automated Tactical Data System)
• FAAD (Forward Area Air Defense)
• US Secret clearance with NATO read-on
• Bachelor's Degree
