Network Engineer

The Role • Working hours are: Mondays through Thursday -- 11pm to 7am CT • The primary focus of this position will be to plan and implement software updates to an array of routing and switching platforms in the core network. This work will be performed during a scheduled maintenance window. Key elements of workload tasks include: • Method of Procedure (MOP) creation • Scheduled Maintenance creation • Upgrade preparation (uploading software and other prep as necessary prior to actual maintenance) • Pre-checks / Code Activation / Post Checks / Commits on appropriate hardware • Support interaction with company engineers and vendors Cisco Platforms That Will Be Upgraded • ASR-9001 • ASR-9006 • ASR-9010 • ASR-920 • NCS-540 • 8201 Requirements • Must have extensive experience with handling software upgrades on Cisco switches and routers. • Must have good attention to detail. • Cisco certified engineer preferred (i.e., CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE) or equivalent experience with Cisco router configuration.
