Network Security Engineer ( Zero Point )

Location: 100% Remote ( CST ) Plano, TX

A Senior Network Security Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of an organization's network infrastructure. They are a key player in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of an organization's network, making their role critical in the overall cybersecurity strategy.

Responsibilities

Network Security Design and Implementation (MUST HAVE):

Design and implement robust network security architectures to safeguard the organization's data and systems.

Configure and deploy firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security devices.

Vulnerability Management (Good To Have)

Regularly assess the network for vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

Collaborate with IT teams to apply security patches and updates in a timely manner.

Network Monitoring And Analysis (MUST HAVE)

Ingest monitoring tools to detect and respond to security threats.

Analyze network traffic patterns and behavior to identify potential issues.

Collaboration And Communication

Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the overall IT infrastructure.

Provide guidance and training to security engineers and IT staff across the globe.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Experience

Several years of experience in network security roles, with a focus on designing and implementing security solutions.

Certifications

Relevant certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCNP Security (Cisco Certified Network Professional Security), or equivalent.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in firewall and VPN configurations.

Strong understanding of intrusion detection/prevention systems.

Knowledge of encryption protocols, network protocols, and security frameworks.

Analytical Skills

Ability to analyze complex network security issues and provide effective solutions.

Strong troubleshooting skills to address security incidents.

Communication Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
