Network Security Engineer

Job Description

Firewall Security Engineer/Network Securities

Work closely with network team, security team and with developer community to analyze application connectivity

Develop firewall rulesets (Cisco ASA i.e., Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance) based upon log analysis and ensure that all access has been vetted properly

Work on custom Splunk queries for IP flow analysis

Work on firewall and infrastructure capacity management.

Assist in developing solutions and implement changes as necessary

Perform network configuration changes / firewall updates in accordance with change management process

Create and maintain network documentation as it relates to network configuration, network diagrams and processes

Ensures that all process and procedures have been implemented, and documented

Assist in troubleshooting issues related to network connectivity, partnering with our wider networking teams

Requirements

5 6 years' experience in IT infrastructure engineering/support role.

In-depth knowledge of firewall policy creation and Splunk queries

Extensive experience with Cisco ASA firewalls. Checkpoint firewall experience is a plus

Ability to develop Azure Network Security Groups is a plus

Excellent relationship building and communication skills, both written and oral

Flexible and able to shift rapidly with an ever-changing environment

Must possess ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and escalate issues effectively

Outstanding written, verbal communication, as well as strong customer service skills

Flexible and able to shift rapidly with an ever-changing environment

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple initiatives in the execution of daily operations
