Job Description

The Network Specialist – Operations is a mandatory on-site mid-level IT resource providing IT support maintaining and monitoring our client’s network landscape. 

You will be called upon to help address issues, recommend improvements, implement solutions, and contribute to the overall network landscape. 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide comprehensive operational support for all aspects of the network as well as related functions. 

• Monitor and maintain all network infrastructure. • Upgrade, harden, and configure all network infrastructure nodes/systems. 

• Prepare and maintain documentation for all aspects within scope.

• Contribute to design and planning efforts for new sites as well as upgrades/expansions for existing sites. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

• Experience with Cisco Meraki (MX, MS, and MR)/(Wired/Wireless).

• Experience with Cisco Embedded Wireless Controller. 

• Experience with Microsoft Azure (AAD, Universal Print, etc.).

• Experience with Microsoft Teams (including voice and video conferencing).

• Experience with Zscaler (ZIA and ZPA).

• Experience with Avaya PBX management. 

• Experience with PFSense firewall configuration and management.

• Experience with zero-trust environments. • Experience with video conferencing deployments.

• Experience with site-to-site VPN. 

• Experience with Palo Alto. 

• CCNP R&S certification or equivalent experience. 

• Experience in working with external parties to remotely configure and troubleshoot external network connectivity. 

• Thorough understanding of ITIL Service Management Concepts.

• Ability to analyze data and develop logical solutions to complex issues. 

• Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex technical publications, manuals, and other documentation.

 

Time Management – Ability to work within a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with minimal supervision. Must be well organized with a high attention to detail and accuracy.

Reasoning/Analytical Ability – Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to make timely recommendations to effectively solve problems, using independent judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or law.
