OCI Cloud Engineer with Terraform

Job Description:

• Client is seeking a OCI Cloud Engineer.
• A successful candidate will be able to analyze business needs to help ensure Oracle Cloud solution meets the enterprise and business objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen.
• This role needs to possess the ability to exercise good judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to connect our cloud applications to cloud services or onprem applications.
• This role also leads continuous development and enhancements of shared application frameworks while acting as an advanced collaborator with development, infrastructure, and operations teams to develop, monitor, and tune security controls to support client commitment to Zero Trust Architecture.

Responsibilities:

• OCI Cloud Engineer is responsible for design, deploy, and manage OCI infrastructure and services. Cloud Engineer works closely with developers, architects, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of OCI. Responsibilities will include architecture design, implementation of OCI solutions.
• Experience and complete knowledge of OCI Administration with strong understanding of Tenancy, VCN, Compartments, Network Layers, handling Firewalls, subnet, storage options, FSS, Block Volume, Object storage.
• OCI infra-administration including installation, configuration, migrations, tuning, patching, administration & monitoring.
• Hands on experience in writing and modifying Terraform scripts for deployments on OCI and for managing OCI Infrastructure.
• Hands on experience with performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required and ensure high availability of infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain reusable templates and code to automate solution delivery and deployment processes across multiple cloud providers.
• Collaborate with Enterprise architects, security, and SMEs to establish and enforce DevOps standards, best practices, and procedures.
• Experience in OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Con"gure/add new services as necessary.
• Experience around handling OS or Application related security vulnerabilities is an added advantage. Exposure to using code repository like GIT.
• Hands on Experience with provisioning storage, compute nodes, network. and understanding requirements for the same. Experience with Certi"cate renewals on OCI.
• Experience with security list, Ingress, Egress, Subnets, SSL, Route Table con"gurations within OCI and managing applications in multi-tenant layers.
• Understanding and hands on experience of HA architecture in an OCI environment. Strong understanding of HA concepts in DR and setting up on Infrastructure for DR Site.
• Experience with IaaS solutions: virtual machines/networks, on - premises/hybrid cloud computing, cloud identity, security models, cloud monitoring, logging, local and cloud storage.
• Should be well-versed with ITIL based service delivery for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Capacity Management, Configuration Management.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash is preferred.
• Responsible for the cloud disaster recovery design and execution utilizing best practices.
• Ensure the effective daily operation of the production / database applications and provides administrative support for new implementations, upgrades, and migrations.

Qualification:

• 6+ years of IT experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• 2+ years of experience with Oracle cloud implementation as a senior team member.
• Experience in migration of on-premises to Oracle cloud.
• Demonstrable experience implementing Oracle Cloud solutions with large-scale implementation project experience within global organizations.
• Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure on OCI.
• Optimize OCI infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.
• Develop and implement automation tools and processes for cloud infrastructure management.
• Experience with CI/CD tools git /Jenkins, GitOps model Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to OCI.
• Monitor OCI infrastructure performance and implement improvements as needed.
• Hands on development experience with various cloud, SaaS, and IaaS
• Use of modern practices to increase the speed of delivering software (e.g., Agile, DevOps, test automation, etc.)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualification:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Oracle OCI certification
• Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD, version control, and testing
• Familiarity with AWS and Azure is a plus
