The Collaboration Lead is a senior-level role within the IT Operations team, responsible for managing and maintaining the messaging & collaboration i.e. Microsoft 365 (M365) environment for the organization. 

 

Key Responsibilities - Technical:M365 Administration: Manage and oversee the configuration, deployment, and administration of Microsoft 365 services, including but not limited to Office, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Yammer, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Power Automate and related applications.

 

1.      Technical Support: Provide advanced-level troubleshooting and issue resolution for complex M365-related incidents and service requests. Collaborate with L1 and L2 support teams to resolve escalated problems effectively and in a timely manner.

2.      Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, data protection, and compliance policies across the M365 environment. Stay updated with the latest security threats and ensure the environment remains secure and compliant.

3.      Migration and Upgrades: Plan and execute migration projects and upgrades for M365 services, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users. Evaluate new features and capabilities and recommend their adoption to enhance productivity.

4.      User Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to end-users on M365 applications and features to enhance user adoption and proficiency.

5.      Automation and Scripting: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance operational efficiency within the M365 environment.

 

  • Lead Operations for the Collaboration environment - ensure that IT processes are running efficiently and reliably, and any issues that arise are quickly identified and resolved. 
  • Lead System Administration for the Collaboration environment - manage technologies and systems (cloud and on-premises) to ensure they are performing optimally including cloud services, servers, databases, and applications. In addition, configure, secure, maintain all technologies. 
  • Lead all incidents (Level 2 & 3) and problems management for Collaboration environment.
  • Lead capacity planning and reporting for Collaboration environment (Data, Software, Licensing, etc.) 
  • Lead, manage and execute environment changes and upgrades, including Cloud and on-premises software, hardware, and services.
  • Perform deep and continual analysis of Collaboration environment and document improvement opportunities on a monthly routine. 
  • Generate and create simple and detailed reports as needed synthesized (if required) from multiple locations to provide customer with quality information to make decisions. Provide prudent insights upon analysis on information collected.
  • Lead troubleshooting of issues to resolution. Provide meaningful and material support when problems are adjacent to Collaboration environment or is a dependent service to collaboration environment and work with the larger teams to resolution. 
  • Lead day-to-day interfacing with third parties with whom customer has Collaboration software-related agreements.
  • Lead all service interruption and issue calls, drive the issues to resolution.
  • Microsoft 365 certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, etc.
  • Proven experience as a senior-level engineer or administrator in managing complex M365 environments.
  • Strong understanding of O365 services, including Exchange Online, Yammer, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of security practices, compliance requirements, and data protection within the M365 environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to lead migration and upgrade projects.

Education

Any Graduate
