OpenShift/Kubernetes Engineer

Job Description

This will start at 12 months but could go longer with M&T Bank; please make sure they were not submitted already.

Must work as a W2 employee.

Seeking an experienced OpenShift/Kubernetes Engineer to join a team managing and maintaining the bank's container platform. This person should bring expert knowledge of the OpenShift/Kubernetes platform and best practices for cluster deployments to the team.

Must Have Experience In The Following Areas

Platform Engineer (based on roles involving container orchestration, CI/CD, and infrastructure management) OpenShift Kubernetes Podman/Docker Banks and/or financial institutions Strong understanding of the system development and infrastructure lifecycle and architecture, vendor best practices, IT Service Management, and systems design. Linux systems and how to configure them. write sustainable scripts using a language such as Python, Perl, or Bash:- - automation and creating Ansible playbooks and/or Terraform Azure services, specifically Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Red Hat Openshift Azure Kubernetes Service Azure Red Hat Openshift

Automate the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of the bank's OpenShift clusters through the creation and deployment of custom pipelines

Participate in the review of new cluster configurations and pipelines to ensure they achieve their intended result in a non-disruptive manner

Identify, recommend, and implement upgrades and enhancements required to maintain system functionality and optimal performance

Lead efforts in infrastructure automation and continuous deployment utilizing a CI/CD pipeline in a private virtualized environment

Document any new services or infrastructure being deployed as well as ensuring that current documentation remains accurate and follows best practices
