Optics Test Automation Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an Optics Test Automation Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA, for a 6-month contract. The candidate will play a crucial role in automating tests for validating/qualifying various Cisco and 3rd party optics on Cisco hardware running SONiC. This role requires a mix of strong technical skills in network automation, proficiency in Python, and deep knowledge of optics.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and automate tests for 100G, 200G, 400G, and 800G optics across different port/breakout configurations.
• Utilize IXIA Traffic Generator APIs for test script automation.
• Execute Python scripts on IXIA and remote servers to conduct tests.
• Troubleshoot and debug network systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate closely with the development team to refine system architecture and deployment strategies.

Must Have Skills:

• Extensive experience with optical technologies and network operating systems, specifically SONiC.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with IXIA Traffic Generator APIs.

Industry Experience:

• Prior experience in Networking and Optics within the tech industry is greatly preferred.
