Job Description:
We are searching for a senior technical professional to join the Data Center Operational Support Services (OSS) team as a Lead Oracle Database Administrator. This position requires solid experience in Red Hat Linux, Solaris, and Windows OS. The candidate will support multiple database tasks in a dynamic environment, maintaining and managing databases. The candidate will be the team lead and will have management responsibilities in addition to technical. The candidate is expected to be hands on and able to perform all technical tasks themselves and teach other team members.
This position is onsite and located at Client offices located in Melbourne, Florida. Remote work is not possible.
This position requires the ability to support On call schedule rotations.
This position requires the ability to support weekend, evening, and/or overnight maintenance request as needed.
This position requires travel to disaster recovery site and support as needed.
This position requires the ability to obtain FAA Public Trust Suitability.
Essential Functions:
Database management with Oracle RAC, Grid infrastructure (ASM & Clusterware), Data Guard (logical and physical standby), Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Oracle database backup/recovery, high availability, data replication solutions, and applying quarterly security patches.
Tuning databases to improve response times of queries.
Creation of jobs, stored procedures, and other database activities as needed.
Control of database security systems and how users interact with the data.
Documentation of database processes.
Plan and execute implementations of new data related applications and systems.
Review and implement new database designs based on developer requirements.
Complete system performance tuning and diagnostic related tasks.
System health monitoring and proactive correction of issues.
Perform people (HR) management of 5 person team including performance management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 7 years performing as a Database Administrator.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle RAC.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading and managing a team.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Proven troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Excellent core database administration life cycle skillset from installation to disaster recovery.
Knowledge and experience with standard SQL Server (version 2012 and later) administration, backup, recovery, refresh databases, performance tuning, HA/DR solutions, upgrade and patching in a virtual environment is an added plus.
Oracle Multitenant CDB/PDB administration along with migration from non-CDB to PDB is a plus.
CCNA, CISSP, CompTIA Security+ , and other related certifications.
