Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise tax systems across multiple entities.
  • Analyze, implement, and validate monthly updates for tax engine rates, rules, and jurisdictions.
  • Identify and recommend process and system improvements, and participate in implementing efficiencies within the Indirect Tax group.
  • Perform critical analysis of tax system test results and provide solutions to identified issues.
  • Configure and test taxability overrides in the tax engine, and coordinate with IT to ensure changes function as expected.
  • Collaborate with team members from various business units to minimize the impact of indirect taxes on proposed transactions.
  • Communicate tax system changes to affected groups within the tax department and other internal stakeholders.
  • Minimize company tax liabilities by staying updated on reporting changes and analyzing existing tax calculation methods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects related to indirect tax.

Skills, Experience, and Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business with 3+ years of experience in Sales/Use Tax, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing AR, Invoicing, OTC in Oracle EBS / Oracle Fusion / Oracle Cloud.
  • Experience with tax technology such as Avalara (preferred), Vertex, or OneSource.
  • Working knowledge of indirect tax and ERP/tax/billing/payable implementation processes.
  • Experience testing application releases, version upgrades, and documenting results.
  • Proficient in Alteryx, SQL, Python, Oracle, or other scripting/big data languages.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, dynamic environment
