Position Overview: The Packaging Engineer role in Morton, IL is part of the Product Support and Logistics Division, responsible for designing and developing returnable and expendable packaging for individual piece parts and bulk shipping to ensure efficient receipt and delivery of material. The role involves establishing packaging and processing specifications at the part number level, developing supplier packaging requirements, and leading initiatives to improve packaging efficiency within receiving, warehousing, and line-side delivery. The Packaging Engineer also designs packaging concepts and container layouts using 3D modelling software, performs cost analysis, and validates new packaging and containers during the pilot phase. Additionally, the role audits supplier conformance to packaging specifications, focusing on cost savings and avoidance projects, and work standards while resolving packaging-related safety and quality issues. Job Responsibilities: • Establish packaging and processing specifications at the part number level for new product introductions, cost savings, or other supply chain improvements. • Develop, communicate, and maintain supplier packaging requirements. • Lead initiatives and collaboration with suppliers and facilities to change packaging to improve efficiency within receiving, warehousing, and line-side delivery. • Create packaging concepts and container layouts using 3D modelling software. • Perform cost analysis and develop business cases for implementing packaging improvements. • Procure and validate new packaging and containers during the pilot phase. • Audit supplier conformance to packaging specifications. Candidate Requirements:

Education & Experience Required: • Bachelor of Science Degree in Packaging, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, or other related fields. • 2-4 years of experience as a Packaging Engineer or Packaging Analyst. • A background in Manufacturing, Operations, Inventory Management, Material Requirements, and/or Supply Chain/Logistics is highly desired. • College or university degree related to Supply Chain, or equivalent experience, is required. Technical Skills Required: • Experience with Creo or similar electronic drafting experience is required. • Knowledge of packaging materials. • Knowledge of packaging suppliers
