Design and development of complex detailed rigid, semi-rigid, and flexible printed circuits using CAD and CAE tools. Create component footprints in conjunction with PCB Librarian.

Take responsibility for PCB outline and layer setup; component placement and signal routing. Interface with board fabrication vendor to select and use correct impedance rules, DFM and DFT rulesets.

Work with hardware engineers (EE and PD), PCB designers to maintain and improve PCB design process.

Meet challenging design deadlines of multiple layout projects. Leverage internal resources and vendors to complete design on time.

Keep up with, and develop comprehensive knowledge of, industry standards and technologies. Proactive in implementing new PCB technologies and processes.

Full time, Onsite (Sunnyvale, CA) is preferred. Remote is negotiable depending on experience and skill level, and subject to management approval.

Skills:

Experienced with state of the art PCB design tools and methodology.

Experience with Cadence and Allegro tools. Proficient with high-speed board designs or layouts; familiar with high density ball-grid array's (BGA), and blind and buried via's. Solid understanding of mechanical design constraints and IDX import process.

Solid understanding of constraint manager. Set up physical, electrical, keep out rules for complex multi-layer and multi-zone designs.

Experience of collaborating closely with Product Design (PD) teams to import mechanical drawing and placement of key components in Cadence environment. Provide feedback to hardware teams based on DFM and DFA requirements.

Familiarity with all phases of hardware development including: schematic entry, manually generated constraints, requirements of the constraints and board layout.
