As a Platform Engineer, the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in infrastructure hardening, storage solutions, containerization technologies, observability tools, and application security practices.
As a Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Responsibilities:
· Design, implement, and manage infrastructure hardening processes to enhance the security posture of our cloud-based platforms.
· Configure NetApp S3 storage solutions to suit project requirements – Administration and provisioning data containers and ACL’s.
· Manage Docker and Kubernetes clusters to orchestrate containerized applications effectively.
· Administer Kafka clusters, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, to support high-throughput, distributed data streaming.
· Implement and maintain observability solutions using Grafana and Prometheus, enabling comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and visualization of system metrics and logs.
· Configure and manage Node-RED instances for IoT integration and workflow automation.
· Implement MQTT protocols for lightweight messaging between IoT devices and backend systems.
· Conduct application hardening activities, including secure coding practices, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
· Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents promptly, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum availability.
· Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, continually improving our infrastructure and processes.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud-native infrastructure.
· Hands-on experience with infrastructure hardening techniques, including network security, access control, and vulnerability management.
· Proficiency in deploying and managing NetApp S3 storage solutions or similar cloud storage platforms.
· Strong expertise in Docker and Kubernetes, including containerization, orchestration, and cluster management.
· Experience in administering Kafka clusters, with knowledge of configuration, replication, and performance tuning.
· Familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Puma for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
· Experience configuring and managing Node-RED instances for IoT integration.
· Knowledge of MQTT protocols for lightweight messaging and IoT communication.
· Experience with application hardening practices, including secure coding, vulnerability assessments, and patch management.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
