About the project
A Center of Excellence (CoE) for Citizen Development in Power Automate, Power Apps, and Power BI is designed to centralize expertise and foster best practices across these platforms within an organization. The main goal is to achieve a high maturity level, aligning with NIST 2.0 maturity level 3, which focuses on defined and consistently applied processes. The responsibilities of such a CoE include:
1. Governance and Compliance:
o Apply governance frameworks to ensure data security, compliance with regulations, and alignment with enterprise standards.
o Monitor and enforce compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
2. Strategy and Roadmap Development and Budget:
o Define a strategic roadmap for deploying and scaling Power Platform technologies within the organization.
o Align the roadmap with broader business objectives and IT strategies.
3. Training and Support:
o Provide comprehensive training programs and workshops to empower non-technical users to utilize these platforms effectively.
o Establish a support structure for ongoing mentoring and problem-solving.
4. Performance and Resource Management:
o Monitor the performance and usage of the platforms to optimize resource allocation.
o Ensure robust infrastructure management that supports scalability and efficiency.
5. Innovation and Best Practices:
o Foster an innovative culture that encourages experimentation and continuous improvement.
o Build and Maintain a repository of best practices, templates, and guidelines to enhance productivity and efficiency.
6. Change Management:
o Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of the Power Platform across the organization.
o Communicate the benefits and changes effectively to all stakeholders to ensure buy-in and proper use of the technologies.
7. Quality Assurance:
o Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that applications and workflows meet functional and operational standards before full-scale deployment.
8. Metrics and Reporting:
o Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of the platforms and the productivity gains from their use.
