PPDS Engineer

Job Description Client has an immediate opening for a Senior SAP Engineer. The Senior SAP Engineer will be part of a team providing planning and supply chain management support for the SAP business systems and participate in strategic projects as needed. The individual shall contribute to strengthening the business processes, performing both technical analysis and systems support activities. The ideal candidate will have prior steel industry experience using SAP PPDS, be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.   Summary of Responsibilities: • Be the functional resource to support the production environments for all SAP planning a supply chain module employed by the business. o Accountable for system configurations as an individual contributor. o Be the expert in the configuration and customizing technologies employed by SAP. o Review changes made by project resources and ensured they conform to our standards. o Ensure sustainability of the sap processes configured in the planning modules. • Hands on designing, specifying, configuring to moving changes to production. o Perform technical mapping, gap analysis, and recommend the best way to address the gaps. o Write detailed functional specifications for workflow, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (WRICEF). Ensure that the solution implemented in each phase is consistent with the overall direction and the end state. o Author specifications at the level required for ABAP development. o Estimate the development effort required. o Perform peer reviews for other functional analysts. • Coordinate self and others in the SAP team along with communication and support with business users. o Align with the IT teams to ensure accurate delivery of changes required by the business. o Assist with technical work assigned to team members and help with technical workload balancing. o Provide level 2 and 3 support for production systems and project implementations, as necessary. • Project management o Capable of providing technical support to others on larger change requests or projects impacting many SAP disciplines. o Ability to break up larger change requests or projects into appropriate workstreams and provide support to Project Managers on estimates and plans. o Work with the IT technical and business teams to identify and assist in addressing change management items. • Perform other duties as assigned. o Working and coordinating with other IT teams (non-SAP) o Integrating SAP with other integration tools – IBM IIB middleware software o Gain SAP knowledge using SAP trainings, conferences, and local forums and transition to the rest of the team. Minimum Qualifications:   • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent • 7+ years of experience in Production Planning in SAP S/4 2021 or older versions including APO. • Proven systems design and analysis experience specifically within SAP ERP systems • SAP version upgrade experience • Three full cycle implementations (from blueprint to go-live) • ABAP debugging skills. • Knowledge of Embedded Analytics, CDS Views and Hana Live • Strong verbal and written communication skills PPDS: (Recent migration from APO to embedded PP/DS S4) • Production Planning and Detail Scheduling (PPDS) • Planned Orders and Production Orders • Standard and custom heuristics • Evaluate and troubleshoot Production plans (MRP) • Capacity Plans • Process chains. • Master Data (Routings, BOMs, Production Version and Configurable materials). • SAP VC / Dependencies • Interfaces using IDOCS, Production Appointments. Preferred Qualifications: • IBP o Model Configuration (forecast planning – all entities) o User identity and access management (IAS) o Data integration (CPI) o Application job administration and maintenance o Be able to work with the Apps available in the “General Planner” group. o Planning view template administration o Excel Add-in: templates, favorites, master data workbook, application jobs. • SAP aATP o Availability check o CTP scenarios o Production Allocation o ABC (Rules Based ATP) . • Proven systems development experience specifically within SAP ERP systems • Technical collaboration skills in IT environments • Ability to multi-task and strong time management skills • O365 Microsoft tools • Middleware experience. IBM WebSphere • Experience with ITIL concepts and processes • Manufacturing or Steel experience • ABAP debugging skills. • Fiori knowledge • BRF+ knowledge • SAP HANA 2021 on premise experience
