This is with DirecTV and is in Campaign and Viewership Analysis – so experience working with Consumer Behavior Analysis, Marketing Campaigns, Customer Subscriptions, Streaming/trending, Marketing Campaigns.  A/B testing, marketing testing – these are the key things they want here. 

They must have the AI/Data science background + testing + the above.

 

Updated notes from manager:  Experience working with Jupyter, scripting with notebooks, pandas, and nice-to-have is data science production and modeling.  SQL is a must have.  My feedback based on some of the resumes, they were business intelligence or data engineers and didn't fit what we are looking for.  We're looking more of an analysts or data science profile.  I should also mention Tableau is another tool we use, so if you see that, that's good as well.  Other similar tools would be: Looker, Metabase, Mode.

 

Principal – Advanced Analytics will use expert skills in reporting and complex analytics to explore and identify influences on behavior.  You’ll have the opportunity to bring together a variety of internal and external data sources and apply intelligent data science to solve business problems and improve the customer experience.

 

We are looking for a talented, highly motivated individual with strong quantitative aptitude, a deep knowledge of analytics and business, hands-on data science skills and exceptional strategic thinking to join our organization.

This is a work from home position that can be located anywhere in the United States.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Gathers, analyzes, and interprets a wide variety of data to identify causal relationships and trigger points that influence customer behavior.
  • Creates, monitors and explains critical business health metrics by collecting data from various systems, exploring and synthesizing that data into valuable insights
  • Tell the story using data behind our most critical customer experiences by:
  • Combining multiple data sets, determining the best approach and variables
  • Drilling to the root cause through analysis and business knowledge
  • Creating and delivering presentations to leadership
  • Develops reports, charts, tables and other visual aids in support of findings.
  • Advises business partners with regards to patterns and relationships in data to recommend business direction or outcomes.
  • Knowledge of NPS and survey data sets a plus

 

Background:

  • Degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, business or related quantitative field; advanced degree preferred
  • 8-10 years related experience in advanced analytics, data science, big data, relational database structures, reporting, dashboarding, ad hoc analysis
  • Excellent at aggregating and synthesizing data in information into insights, utilizing analysis and data visualization to tell a data story.
  • Expertise in R, Python, SAS, SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, disparate data sets, data mining, data visualization tools
  • Expertise in MS Office suite
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, must be capable of explaining complex information to others in straightforward manner
  • Recommend solutions to improve performance based on analysis
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills
