Principal IT Architect Infrastructure

Job Description:

Pay Range $47hr - $52hr

• Develop and drive the overall IT architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, industry best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and secure enterprise-wide solutions, encompassing applications, infrastructure, data, and integration layers.
• Lead the planning, design, and execution of VMWare migration initiatives, ensuring seamless migration of on-premises VMWare workloads to the cloud environment.
• Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership to project teams, ensuring adherence to established architecture principles, standards, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and senior executives to understand their requirements, define architectural roadmaps, and recommend innovative solutions that address business challenges.
• Conduct research and analysis of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for architectural improvements and innovation.
• Evaluate and participate in the selection of third-party vendors and technology solutions, conducting thorough assessments and due diligence to ensure compatibility with the overall architecture and strategic objectives.
• Define and enforce architecture governance processes, including the Architecture Review Board and documenting processes and standards, to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across IT projects.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of architectural documentation, including solution design documentation, diagrams, guidelines, and policies, to facilitate knowledge sharing and enable effective decision-making.
• Mentor and coach junior architects, engineers, and other technical staff fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the architecture team.
• Collaborate with other IT teams, such as security and business solutions to ensure the overall integrity, scalability, and performance of the IT ecosystem.

• Strong expertise in designing and implementing complex enterprise solutions with modern technologies and frameworks - particularly Azure, Azure AD, and Hyperconverged technologies such as Client, Terraform, etc.
• Experience with migration of on-prem technologies to cloud platforms, with an emphasis on migrating VMWare environments to Azure.
• Experience and familiarity with networking design and architecture especially with SD-WAN.
• Strong understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements in enterprise environments, including data protection, identity management, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems, identify critical issues, and propose effective solutions.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading architectural initiatives and driving organizational change.
• An ownership mentality with assigned projects, and a proven ability to coordinate with other technical team members, project managers, vendors, and others to ensure continual progress and successful completion of those projects.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance, ITAR compliance, NIST, and other regulatory frameworks is desirable.
• Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, are desirable.

Education and Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as an IT architect, with a focus on enterprise-level architecture and strategic planning.
