Typical Tasks/Duties

Oversees a portfolio of technology product lines that may include multiple systems or applications.
Provides leadership for the use of the products, and through analysis and design, provides continuous improvement of business processes and product capabilities.
Tracks roadmaps and emerging trends for products to understand capabilities as they are released, and proactively plans and leads upgrade strategies.
Drive discussions with customers and product solution engineers that focus on tools, features, and processes to support strategic agility over customizations
Owns the backlogs for products by identifying and prioritizing projects within those product lines.
Coordinates work with project managers to ensure product-related projects are well- defined, including scope, deliverables and delivery cycles.
Engages regularly with internal business sponsors to identify product pain points, training needs, documentation needs, and communication needs.
Serves as the voice of advocacy for the customer with external vendors and internal product support teams, elevating and prioritizing enhancement requests.
Serves as liaison with IT leadership and IT support staff to communicate product changes and/or feature enhancements.
Working with the respective IT team leads to create communication, documentation, resources, and training materials to meet business needs and promote the success of the product.
Performs root-cause analysis in identification and resolution of complex problems with products.
Manages product risks and dependencies across the organization and with external vendors

Education/Experience/Skills

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a field related to information systems, business management, or education.
Three (3) years of progressive work experience in information technology and technical project management.
5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Solution Lead preferred
5 years of experience working in an Agile environment preferred
Agile Certified Product Manager (CPM) or comparable certification preferred
Experience implementing large scale technology solutions, working with multidisciplinary teams, and functioning as a team leader
Can demonstrate knowledge of best practices with respect to customer service and customer-oriented account management
Understanding of technology-related issues and how they might impact assigned customers
Awareness of appropriate local, state, and federal laws and regulations dealing with technology;
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Experienced level of technical knowledge and skills in the product categories.
Comprehensive working knowledge of job-related policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as the fundamental concepts, regulations, and practices of the field

Education

Any graduate
