Project lead Engineer - Hardware Design

You will be working as Project lead Engineer - Hardware Design and will be part of Process Automation Business Area for Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Senior Engineering Manager and will be responsible for working towards giving best fit technical solutions for customer needs and striving towards making ABB most competitive in the market. Your responsibilities

• Reviewing of technical specification of DCS cabinets and designing the cabinets to meet the customer specification
• Designing best fit technical solution against customer specifications. Determining most technical appropriate and cost-effective solutions
• Working with internal and external panel shops performing cabinet fabrication and testing
• Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation and calculations
• Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues within ABB. Engaging in workshops pertaining to engineering design, tools and processes
• Working in international environments with different cultures, languages and managing stakeholders of varying management levels

Your background

• B.E or B Tech in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in Automation Proposals (DCS or ESD or FGS) for process industries in any one of the domains like Oil and Gas or Refineries or Petrochemicals
• Experience with the ABB 800xA System including power and grounding requirements, field cabling requirements and field wiring “typical” for IO signals, equipment, installation, connection, power-up and site acceptance testing
• Having good knowledge in Identifying potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and technically evaluates supplier offers to match with specifications. Collaborates with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to vendors
• Having good knowledge on ABB systems (System 800xA or Symphony Plus) will be an added advantage
