The Project Manager III is an Information Technology (IT) position that will manage components of highly complex and visible projects and/or program initiatives. The Project Manager (PM) will follow project management methodologies and governance processes to deliver work products on time and within a set budget. The PM will also collaborate with the end-user and key stakeholders to provide status updates and gather requirements, with the vendor on their implementation and delivery of contract deliverables, and with the internal IT Team. The PM will be responsible for maintaining and managing the timeline for multiple projects. Further, this individual will work to identify project risks and issues and proactively manage a plan to mitigate the risks and resolve the issues. The PM will be involved with planning and staging the execution of this initiative to update existing capabilities and switch functionality toa new platform. The PM will monitor and drive the integration of necessary elements for standing up appropriate security and operations (access management) layers. The PM will assist in collecting detailed requirements, assembling/monitoring projections and plans for efforts, suggesting optimizations as per their specialty, and coordinating work.

 

The workers responsibilities and skills must include:

  • Experience with general IT SDLC processes.
  • Experience with implementing Enterprise Systems Integration projects.
  • Experience with large transformation projects.
  • Experience with mediating business units that may have conflicting requirements.
  • Experience driving systems integration delivery projects from 3rd party vendors to delivery
  • acceptance and project closure.
  • Experience driving every aspect of technical implementation.
  • Experience with preparing and presenting executive level project communications, project
  • tracking and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to create and maintain several project artifacts including Project Timeline, Risk & Issue
  • Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register etc.
  • Ability to identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Responsible for project scope delivery adhering to and optimizing schedule, costs, and
  • resources. Projects include Client, partners, and third-party deliverables.
  • Acts as the counterpart for vendors program leader to ensure customer satisfaction and be the
  • escalation point for service delivery activities.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a creative thinker to solve issues.
  • Must be hands-on-project manager for multiple projects

 

Required Skills/Experience:

8          Experience in managing all phases of large and complex technical projects.

8          Experience in creating and maintaining various project artifacts including; Project Timeline, Risk & Issue Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register, etc.

8          Experience with general IT SDLC processes.

8          Experience in identifying and managing project risks and issues.

8          Skilled in creating and presenting executive level project communications.

8          Skilled in gathering, reviewing, analyzing, and communicating requirements from business divisions.

8          Skilled in educating business unit staff on standardized processes.

8          Possess strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users including executive staff.

8          Skilled in facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources.

8          Skilled in collaborating with the technical and functional teams to develop the Technical Specification and other documents need in support of the solution.

8          Experience in implementing Enterprise Systems Integration.

8          Experience driving every aspect of technical implementation.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

8          Experience with managing/transitioning In-Flight Project(s)

5          Experience with one or more of the State of Texas government agencies.

5          Experience with multivendor and software professional services for communication service provider or enterprise customers is preferred.

5          PMP certification is a plus
