6 month Contract with possibility to extension

The Project Manager will assist with the coordination and on boarding of HHSC/DSHS applications. The Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Documenting the environment and ongoing maintenance of documentation.
  • Organize, plan & collaborate with Business Enablement Platform staff, application, and Infrastructure side. Some projects are multi-agency, and the PM will oversee multiple projects concurrently.
  • The project manager will lead the Business Enablement Platform projects and participants, structuring own work as well as the work of others.
  • The Project Manager will be accountable for successful project delivery, outcomes, and customer satisfaction to programs, applications, and the agency.
  • Set project goals, time frames, assist with budget estimates & status reports.
  • Ability to address changes, align with IS controls and assist with creating team standards.
  • This individual works under the supervision of the HHSC DCO manager, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • The Project Manager will assist with all team efforts.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications:

6RequiredHas overseen, coordinated, and analyzed the development and documentation of information system and technical requirements.
6RequiredHas performed and/or coordinated technical analysis associated with state agency technical teams. Has worked with development IT teams, managed solution architects, system analysts or database administrators.
6RequiredHas scheduled meetings and coordinated work task schedules between DCS vendor(s) and appropriate State agency technical staff, application development teams, and/or third-party vendors.
5RequiredBackground in Software Development Life Cycle models and Agile principles. Continuous integration and continuous delivery/continuous deployment (CI/CD understanding is a plus).
5RequiredExperience of best practices for optimizing IT infrastructure, providing, and assisting with policy, standards, and guidelines.
5RequiredSkilled at juggling multiple schedules and can anticipate and identify roadblocks; also plan for potential risks before they occur.
4RequiredProficient in business computer application and project management software: Jira, MS Project, Visio, and all other Microsoft products. (Or comparable to the products listed above)
4RequiredSkill in effective written and oral communication, excellent communication skills to successfully lead projects to completion. Ability to work well with others.
3RequiredExperience and understands Azure and/or AWS cloud provider services, cloud technology and cloud networking
1RequiredWorking for, or experience with HHSC or other State IT agencies. Using HHSC or State IT ticketing systems (Remedy and/or Service Now)
6PreferredITIL Foundations Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in information technology, computer science, project management, business administration, or related study
6PreferredOrganized, responsive and highly detailed problem solver
2PreferredOne or more Cloud certifications such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure and/or equivalent work experience
1PreferredWorking for or experience with HHSC or other State IT agencies
