Role: Sigma Project Manager Location: 2 BROADWAY, NEW YORK Experience: 7-10+ Rate: 65 max C2C USC/GC Critical Key requirements • Proficiency with MS Visio required • Ability to conduct root-cause analysis and value stream mapping sessions • Basic knowledge of public mass transit assets & operations • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Required, Black Belt preferred • Strong proficiency in leading, executing and delivering strategic & local process improvement projects • Business process mapping using BPMN standard of MTA • Strong Project Management, coordination and multi-tasking skill SUMMARY OF THE FUNCTION/ROLE (A brief description of the nature and objective of the project) The EAM Program Management Office is seeking one temporary consultant to assist the COO/EAM PMO Deputy Director in overseeing, managing & executing the EAM CI Six Sigma Program within the MTA. The consultant will report directly to the Deputy Director, Business Analysis & Process Management. The consultant will be responsible for supporting the EAM Six Sigma Training Program as well as managing and acting as an advisor and expert on six sigma for various launched six sigma projects across agencies within the program. The consultant will use their analytical skills to apply statistical methods, perform cost benefit PMO analysis and root-cause analysis for managing and providing PMO support on these projects. They will recommend methods of operations, equipment, or other changes to improve productivity, quality and safety. The Consultant might provide workshop expertise to re-engineer processes and supporting systems to improve process capabilities, capacity, work flow and internal logistics. The consultant might will lead and facilitate kaizen teams and processes for other smaller scale projects within the program. Moreover, the consultant will create, update, and audit all levels of documentation to ensure adherence to standardized work and form a benchmark of continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES a. Support the EAM Six Sigma Training Program as well as managing & acting as an advisor and expert on six sigma for various launched six sigma projects across agencies. (Scheduling 1 to 1 sessions with candidates in the program to provide expertise and guidance on their core projects). b. Perform Cost Benefit project reporting analysis (PMO) on all launched six sigma projects across each agencies c. Recommend possible solutions to improve productivity, quality and safety on various projects. Conduct mentorship sessions with various six sigma candidates in the training program to provide guidance on their projects and expertise. d. Create, update and audit all levels of documentation to ensure adherence to standardized work and create benchmarks and KPI’s to track the programs results and progress. e. Perform detailed review of process models and organizational charts prior to review in alignment with project requirements. f. Facilitate remediation of modeling issues/procedure documentation with SMEs. DELIVERABLES & DUE DATES 1. Creation of KPI’s to track progress on MTA Six Sigma Program 2. General PMO documentation will need to be created to track Program 3. Managing CI Program central SHarepointe site to monitor all six sigma projects, KPI’s, updating reference training documents, etc. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION • Required to have a certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from an accredited institution or training company. (Black Belt preferred). • Preferred minimum 7 years’ experience in Business Process Modelling (& management) with MS Visio is required. • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint version 2010 or higher • Familiarity with Microsoft Project version 2010 or higher • Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute in a high-pressure environment • Ability to independently set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment; a self-starter • Familiarity with creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and documenting key process requirements and can produce sample work upon request to the MTA • General Knowledge of public mass transit assets & operations • Expert Knowledge of lean methods, waste elimination, 5S, total productive maintenance, flow, and error proofing • Ability to perform root-cause analysis and value stream mapping • Led Kaizen or CI events and or improvement teams and implemented lean manufacturing techniques. • Strong Problem Solving & analytical skills • Strong Project Management, coordination and multi-tasking skills • Strong Leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate and foster teamwork • Strong ability to exercise a reasonable level or in-depth judgement and decision making • Strong Verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organizational & planning skills with attention to detail • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment • Must be able to prepare concise and insightful reports in a timely manner • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels in the company & outside agencies • Working knowledge of Microsoft office (Work, EXCEL, Visio, Access, etc). • Proficient in MS VISIO for process mapping
