Job Summary:

  • Seeking a highly motivated, resourceful, and creative person (Research Facilitator Professional) to join our team and take an active role in building out our scalable research facilitation capabilities.
  • A successful candidate will assist researchers in the use of the supercomputing system, tools and software to enable research productivity.
  • An ideal candidate is someone who is excited to learn new tools and techniques.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly assisting a broad set of researchers through support requests, including managing the prioritization, coordination and tracking of new account requests/approvals and requests for access to datasets residing on the systems.
  • Help with routine support issues from researchers.
  • Manage communications across the user base regarding events, news and announcements.
  • Support the online learning projects by building components for the online courses, proofreading and editing new content, and handling learner issues as necessary.
  • Review and test training materials.
  • Compile data from the online learning platform and supercomputing systems for reports, presentations and other projects.
  • Perform regular reviews of documentation and user communication and proactively identify areas for continuous improvement of the research facilitation process.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in science, engineering, mathematics, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in high performance computing.
  • Python and Shell Scripting programming experience.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills, as well as strong presentation skills and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Able to work both independently and cooperatively within a team, prioritize effectively, and reliably manage multiple concurrent tasks.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Matlab, Fortran, C / C++ and/or Java programming experience
  • Strong mathematical foundations and interest in working with diverse problems are highly desirable.
