Skills Required

Skills Preferred

The skills preferred for this classification are leadership, risk management, negotiation, time management, detailed oriented and budgeting. Preferred to have infrastructure and IT low voltage system experience.

 

Experience Required

This classification requires a minimum of seven (7) years of broad, extensive and increasingly responsible experience applying PM principles, methods, techniques, and tools. At least four (4) years of that experience must have been as a senior PM of one or more large or complex IT project.

 

Experience Preferred

A minimum of (3) continuous years of broad, extensive, and increasingly responsible Low Voltage Project Management experience planning, designing, and installing of Networks, Wireless Networks, VoIP systems, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), Access Control systems, cloud services and premise wiring systems.

 

Education Required

This classification requires the possession of (a) a bachelor's degree, and (b) a valid Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), which will be verified during the RFO process. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. The PMP certification is required and may not be substituted with additional experience.

 

Additional Information

The LV PM will provide overall project management for various low voltage systems for multiple County Departments. Experience to include working with Network, Telephony, VoIP systems, Closed-Circuit Television CCTV, Access Control systems, premise wiring systems, construction processes, budgets, and managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously, facilitating project meetings, and providing weekly status reports. In addition the project manager will plan and oversee multiple low voltage projects at other various County of Los Angeles departments. In this position, the LVPM will conduct sites surveys to gather and document information required for the planning and implementation of new or replacement low voltage systems. The LVPM interact with customers, manage schedules and budgets, and inspect resources and vendors work within the specified specifications.
