Job Description
Having an effective communication strategy is critical for aligning AIT internal stakeholders, promoting product innovations, and managing customer expectations. Currently, the organization faces challenges due to capacity limitations of the single communications lead, risk of bottlenecks, and the need for tactical and execution expertise in implementing communication strategies.
Story Behind the Need
The proposed solution is to hire a contract communications program manager to provide operational support and ensure that high-level communication strategies are effectively translated and executed into day-to-day actions. This role will enable the existing senior communications manager to focus more on high-value, strategic, and long-term goals while ensuring that tactical execution is carried out smoothly
Typical Day in the Role
The contract communications program manager will be responsible for a range of tactical activities, including:
1. Strategy Implementation: Breaking down high-level communication strategies into actionable steps, developing timelines, and ensuring strategic goals are met, providing progress summaries, and action plans.
2. Project Management: Coordinating with different AIT teams, tracking progress, documentation of plans, and making adjustments as needed.
3. Content Development: Creation and curation of communication materials including WBR updates, All Teams presentations, team wikis, newsletters, and review of SME's material for publication.
4. Stakeholder Management: Acting as a liaison between the senior communication manager and other teams, addressing operational issues in real-time, and gathering of needed information.
5. Metrics and Reporting: Gathering inputs for key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting on progress, providing insights and recommendations.
