QA Functional Tester

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive QA Functional Tester to ensure the functionality, usability, and reliability of our software applications. As a QA Functional Tester, you will play a vital role in validating new features and enhancements while identifying and reporting any functional defects. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, review, and execute functional test cases based on business and functional requirements. Validate software functionality across various environments and platforms to ensure adherence to specifications. Conduct manual testing to identify defects, inconsistencies, and deviations from expected functionality. Collaborate with development teams to replicate issues and validate fixes. Participate in requirement analysis sessions to understand business goals and refine testing strategies. Provide detailed, well-structured defect reports, including steps to reproduce, severity, and impact.

Perform end-to-end functional testing, including integration and system testing. Support regression testing by maintaining and executing existing test cases for system updates.

Work with cross-functional teams to identify and address gaps in the testing process. Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and results.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 10+ years of experience in manual testing, with a focus on functional testing.

Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC). Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).  Experience writing and executing test cases, test plans, and defect reports. Basic knowledge of database queries (SQL) for validating backend processes. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills for documenting test results and interacting with stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) is a plus. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Exposure to API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI. Knowledge of performance testing tools (optional).
