Position Summary:
The QA Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the quality roles of the overall Mobile Refurbishment process. This role will provide leadership and direction to the team and work with internal and external parties in resolving quality issues as they relate to refurbished phones. This will include setting up quality processes and systems that insure product quality is met and maintained at the third-party repair vendor to include areas such as ongoing quality review meetings, issuance and follow-up on corrective action requests, onsite process audits and setting up quality checklists for inbound/inline/outbound inspections. The QA supervisor will work closely with internal support teams as well as HQ/Factory in this regard as well. Expected to maintain direct customer communications for quality related concerns and/or alignment activity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:

• Provides formal weekly/monthly reports on the repair quality performance of the third-party vendor
• Works with a third-party repair vendor to meet SEA quality KPIs and to improve device repair quality by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
• Manages an internal inspection team and the completion of daily tasks and objectives
• Works with the staffing agency to hire and monitor the overall performance of the internal inspection team
• Coordinates customer reject returns for screening and/or expedites shipments of products
• Defines quality inspection processes and assesses the need for changes based on effectiveness
• Provides product audit checklists for the introduction of new repair models
• Coordinates internal teams to provide formal root cause and corrective action responses.
• Performs onsite validation of carrier-reported issues to ensure alignment and ability to escalate concerns to customers


Background/Experience to qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:

• Prefers a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent
• 5-7 years of job related experience
• Thorough understanding of the ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 stds
• Experience with ISO 9000 to support certification audits is beneficial (not required)
• Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with using statistical process control and failure mode effect analysis FMEA applications
• Experience auditing internally and third parties with minimal documentation to insure process controls are in place and adequate.
• Background in the wireless industry a significant advantage.

• The ability to read, write, provide critical technical review and prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures and technical product information.
• Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of company, customer, and team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames.
• The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requiring creativity to search for solutions among learned things. Exposed to situations where only broad and general guidelines for solving problems exist. Job duties require analysis and judgement of functional practices and daily experiences be used to determine appropriate courses of action.

Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

• Requires domestic business travel up to 20% of the work time.
• Operate PC and product test equipment more than 50% of work time in an alternating sedentary and highly mobile position.
• Lift, move, or adjust general test equipment, boxes, supplies, materials or products weighing up to 50 pounds using proper materials handling equipment and procedures.
• High level of visual acuity, numeric/character distinction and moderate color distinction for accurate test equipment operation, for information analysis and error recognition.
• High hand/finger dexterity with fine motor coordination skills to perform electronic component repair work.
• Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids representative and commonly associated with electronic component test, assembly and repair work including test equipment, testing devices, technician hand tools, cables, etc; first aid kit is available and prescription safety glasses are required in certain test areas.
• Under general supervision where general policies govern, daily activities are only sometimes monitored and performance is measured by effective results. Errors are difficult to detect and may adversely affect outside relationships. Access to sensitive confidential data such as product performance data, disclosure may have serious internal or external effect.
