The Senior Developer will be responsible for leading the development of R Shiny applications and supporting materials. This role involves working closely with the explore education statistics platforms team to accelerate the development of templates, packages, and best practices. The Senior Developer will also contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing R Shiny products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development of R Shiny templates and supporting packages.
• Ensure all deliverables meet WCAG 2.2 compliance standards.
• Develop standardized workflows for connecting R Shiny dashboards to data sources.
• Extend and maintain the explore education statistics analytics dashboard.
• Provide general maintenance and bug fixing for R Shiny products.
• Review and test code to ensure quality and compliance with best practices.
• Collaborate with the team to refine and prioritize development tasks.
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience with R Shiny development.
• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.2 compliance standards.
• Experience with data source integration (Databricks, Pins, APIs).
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining analytics dashboards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with GitHub and open-source contributions.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and GDS Service Standards.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks (shinytest2, testthat).

The Developer will also assist in the maintenance and enhancement of existing R Shiny products.
